Le Petit Clocher du Portalet se situe sur la partie Suisse du massif du Mont-Blanc. Cette flèche de granite offre trois faces verticales extraordinaires. Chacune mesure environ 250 mètres et sa face nord est la plus impressionnante des trois.
Le Petit Clocher a été gravi pour la première fois en 1897 par les guides Maurice Crettez et Emile Revaz. Depuis lors, le Petit Clocher n'a cessé depuis d'être le théâtre d'exploits verticaux. Chaque génération de grimpeur y a trouvé un véritable terrain de jeu. Et l'aventure n'est pas terminée. Son granite franc et coupé au couteau, qui semble sortir tout droit de terre et qui n'a subit ni l'érosion des glaciers ni celle de l'eau, est ce qui caractérise le plus le Petit Clocher. Rares sont les autres lieux dans le monde à offrir un tel granite. Marco Pedrini a même eu l'audace de s'écrier, après la deuxième ascension de la voie "Etat de Choc" : "N'allez plus au Yosemite, mais courrez au Petit Clocher du Portalet !"
Le Petit Clocher du Portalet comporte une vingtaine de voies. Toutes ont leur exigence et leur caractère, bien que la voie normal soit largement accessible ainsi que l'une ou l'autre voie, dont la fameuse "sud-est". Ce site est dédié à ce Joyau des Alpes, au service de ce qu'il convient certainement de nommer "l'expérience du Petit Clocher".

Didn’t expect much from the climbing as I wasn’t experienced with trad and multipitching but I got some good adventurous climbing following my partners on Ave Cesar 7c and also La promesse de l’aube 8c. Thanks for the experience Hannes and Kenneth! 🙏 Couscous dinner with different tastes of mackerel and yatzy was a big highlight! 😋🎲

Camping and bivouacking below the Petit Clocher du Portalet: To protect wildlife, a zone has been defined in collaboration with hunters, gamekeeper, and local mountain guides in which camping is strongly discouraged. However, camping is not a problem in two other zones. You can find the map with the marked zones at filidor.ch –> Risk Reports. Che cosa ci fanno due giovani guide intelligenti, in piena stagione di lavoro e con zero giornate di allenamento su roccia, in Svizzera a scalare due delle vie più affascinanti e temute su granito? Là dove conta davvero grande tecnica, fiducia negli incastri e resistenza fisica?
Le solite premesse di prendersela con comodo e andare a godersi delle giornate tra tranquillità e benessere sono andate subito in fumo, e allora via di runout, sangue sulle mani e “Pex occhio”, “Pippo alla prossima sosta ci si può calare volendo? No”.
Il momento più alto è stato essere sbeffeggiati dalla rifugista della cabane_orny perché siamo arrivati lunghi per la cena. Ma come due Guide che arrivano in ritardo? Si, e sta volta è pure colpa nostra!
Durante la notte i crampi ovunque e un intestino birichino ci lasciavano un po’ perplessi sull’indomani: va beh andiamo a vedere e poi al massimo ci ritiriamo. Poi però l’ingaggio e l’aria sotto al culo sono le nostre motivazioni di vita, e quindi un tiro dopo l’altro siamo di nuovo in vetta al Petit Clocher du Portalet!
E poi giù di corsa (tanto per cambiare) per cercare di prendere l’ultima seggiovia in discesa.
Forse un giorno diventeremo più coscienziosi e ci risparmieremo un po’ di più, ma quel giorno è ancora molto lontano!

Neplánovanej rychlo výjezd na Petit Clocher du Portalet na trad spárovou cestu Ave Caesar 7c. Pro mě dobrá škola zakládání. Lezení krásný, ale brutálně přelidněno - v cestě nás bylo 5 dvojek a dalších 5 okolo. Ještě jsme stihli jednu procházku a extrémní stanování na ledovci.
